Milton Hackett

US Navy Veteran

Milton S. “Bud” Hackett, 75, of Wakefield, R.I., and formerly of Newtown, died on May 30. He was the beloved husband of Madeline (Boucher) Hackett.

Born in Bridgeport, Mr Hackett was the son of Florence (Miller) and Milton P. Hackett. He was a US Navy Veteran, and served in the Korean War. He was a service installer for Southern New England Telephone for 38 years before retiring.

Mr Hackett enjoyed woodworking, genealogy, gardening, and watching his grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his wife he leaves four sons, Jeffrey Hackett and his wife Elizabeth of Southbury, Peter Hackett of Bristol, R.I., Gregory Hackett and his wife Colleen of Middlebury, and Patrick Hackett and his wife Allicyn of Tiverton, R.I.; and four grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan, Sean, and Matthew.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 3 at St Mary Church in Carolina, R.I. The family received guests on June 2 at Avery-Storti Funeral Home in Wakefield.
