Lambro

WWII US Army Veteran

Thomas E. Lambro, Sr, 90, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Elizabeth Kressu Lambro, died May 29. Born in Bridgeport, Mr Lambro was a lifelong city resident.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, survivors include his children, Cheryl Themel and her husband, Peter, of Newtown, Thomas E. Lambro, Jr, and his wife, Diane, of Bethlehem, Linda L. Rich and Robert C. Lambro, both of Deerfield, Beach, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Shepard of Stafford Springs; grandchildren, Christopher Lambro and his wife, Alexandria, Erik Lambro, Jennifer and Allyson Themel, Stacey Hirst and her husband, Rick, Anthony T. Rich, Jr, and Natasha, Matthew, Brittaney, and Mackenzie Lambro; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Emma, Peter, Summer, Elijah, and Ivory; as well as several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Anthony T. Rich, Sr.

Mr Lambro was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps. He was a self-employed tool and die maker for many years and later worked for Stelma-Data Products in Stamford, until his retirement. He was a longtime member of St Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church. He served as church president and was a member of the St Dimitrie Retirees.

Funeral services were held May 31 at St Nicholas Antiochian Church, Bridgeport, with burial following in Lakeview Cemetery with full military honors.
