Fashion Week A La Nunnawauk Meadows
Fashion Week A La
Nunnawauk Meadows
Bringing a bit of New York City Fashion Week to Newtown, Nunnawauk Meadows hosted a Fashion Show on May 30 for the enjoyment of its residents, guests from Grace Meadows in Southbury, and members of the Southbury Red Hat Society.
The show featured fashions from the Southbury Dress Barn. The staff was extremely diligent in providing the models with clothing suitable for the diverse lifestyle of the audience.
Six models, all residents of Nunnawauk Meadows, were featured in the fashion show. Francis Beechel was ready for an outing in Capri pants paired with an orange knit square necked top. Her second outfit included beige slacks and a brown top with sequence detail at the neckline.
Louise Butler wowed the audience in a black and fuchsia two-piece casual Capri set with beautifully embroidered detail on the top and pants. Her second outfit was a black and white sheer dinner dress with underpinning, both a bit longer than tea length.
Lia Caggiano was a hit in a two-piece black and red angle-length dress and red flowered jacket. She also modeled a lavender dress, also in ankle length, with a detailed neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves.
Martha Murray stopped the show in the salmon colored two-piece Capri outfit and look magnificent in a long blue skirt with matching top.
Camille Pollaci showed a two-piece aqua Capri outfit with a button-down shirt-styled jacket. She also wore a periwinkle blue paid skirt with a paisley print matched with a plain periwinkle top.
Vickie Scolara dazzled the audience in very soft black palazzo pants and a black and gold shell-style top, and also in a black evening dress featuring spaghetti straps and a square cut neck. The knee-length dress was encrusted with faux jewels at the bust and hemline.
The event was sponsored by Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging. Participants and guests enjoyed the food and fellowship that followed the show and some guests went home with door prizes.
