FONS Thanks All Who Made Membership Meeting A Success
To The Editor:
Friends Of Newtown Seniors Inc (FONS) held its second successful membership meeting and dinner on Wednesday, May 7, at the Newtown Community Center. Since 2016, FONS has worked to provide advocacy and services to Newtown seniors. The generosity of local merchants, residents, and organizations again allowed FONS to provide an extraordinary evening for 100 members.
This year’s theme was “Flavors of Newtown” and the following Newtown restaurants generously provided the food for a delicious dinner buffet:
Angelina’s Deli, Barnwood Grill, Blue Colony Diner, Full Bloom Catering, Cover Two Sports, Gino’s Pizza, Hilltop Kitchen, My Place, Papa Al’s, Project Pizza, Sale E Pepe, Sugo
Wine for the event was donated by the Cronin Family and Bottle Stop Wine & Spirit.
The Middle Gate School PTA donated floral arrangements.
Members of the Newtown High School Football Team - Nick Pavia, Jack Dunford, Caden Cuomo, Mack Foss, Grady Marks, Jake Roszman, and Aidan Molina - served guests at the buffet dinner and were responsible for cleaning up after the event. Brandy Jacobs, Newtown High School College & Career Center Coordinator, organized these student volunteers.
Raffle prizes were donated by: Gift basket – Louise Cronin, including Gift Certificate donated by Ranch Pub; gift certificate – Mexcla; and bottle of fine wine – Cronin Family
Thank you again to all who donated so generously to make the FONS Membership Meeting a success.
