Dozens of Hawley Elementary School students had fun at the school's first ever Career Day on Friday, May 30.

Hawley school counselor Casey Sollazzo organized the event with the help of Hawley Lead Teacher Carla Tischio and the School Climate Committee.

The over 20 parent volunteers in attendance represented a wide variety of careers, including but not limited to arts, technology, and community servants. Stations were set up throughout the entire school. Students enjoyed a fashion design sneaker activity in the art room, career books in the library, and a career interest survey in the reading lounge, among many others.

Everywhere the eye could see, students were engaged in hand-on activities such as spinning model wind turbines and bandaging stuffed animals in a pop-up ambulance.

Tischio said the entire the building hummed with activity and enthusiasm throughout the day.
