Along with helping patrons find specific title requests, the C.H. Booth Library’s Children’s Department announces it has “Summer Reading Bag To Go” options for parents, upon request, to pick up at the table outside of the library during curbside pickup hours.

Patrons are asked to observe social distancing guidelines when they approach the table to get their bag.

Inside the bag, parents will find a necklace and beads to reward children for reading. One bead can be given for each book read. If parents run out of beads, they can call the library at 203-426-3851.

The bag will also contain a free paperback book and a “Summer Fun Challenge” brochure. Earn chances to win gift cards for pizza, toys, and books by completing one or all of the weekly challenges and e-mailing the entry to summerfunraffle@chboothlibrary.org.

Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone, so entries should include contact information and the activity the patron completed. Participants are also asked to share a picture of their project so the library can post it to its Facebook and Instagram accounts, with the patron’s permission.

Patrons can also request titles on the library’s website, chboothlibrary.org, by e-mailing the library, help@chboothlibrary.org, or by calling the library at 203-426-3851 with the requests. Interest in the just-announced 2021 Nutmeg Nominees is high — in consideration of others, the library asks that readers limit requests to one Nutmeg title at a time.
