To The Editor:

We had great presidents after two of them but the third one we are still recovering from. Who will be after Trump?

Number 1 was James Bucanhan in the late 1850's. He appointed Chief Justice Taney to the Supreme Court. Taney gave us The Dred Scott decision. That decision said Blacks were not people under our Constitution and could never be and had no rights as persons. It took our next Pres A. Lincoln and the Civil War to recover from that.

Number 2 was Herbert Hoover in 1928 He gave us the great depression and the election of Hitler. That gave us FDR in 1932 and WWII and the Great Depression to recover from.

Number 3 is not recognized by historians but is my choice, Rutherford B Hayes. He followed US Grant. Grant had just finished cleaning up the south after the Civil War . He got rid of the KKK. Hayes pulled the Army out of the south and let those states back into the Union. (Those same states that elected Trump) Bad decision that led to years of Jim Crow and segregation.

We need the person to follow Trump to be a Lincoln or FDR to lead us out of these times we are in.
