Young adults and chaperones with Newtown Ecumenical Workcamp Servants (NEWS) hosted a car wash fundraiser at Berkshire Motors on Saturday, June 4.

Donations from the event are going towards the group’s upcoming mission trip to Puerto Rico, which was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than two dozen participants worked in teams to wash and dry cars while other members stood along the roadside with handmade signs to get the attention of drivers in the area.

Throughout the day there was a steady stream of vehicles stopping, with drivers looking to support the group for their mission trip.
