On Thursday, June 11, Hawley Elementary School children braved the hot and humid day to tour historic Main Street for the annual walking tours field trip. During the tours, the children get an exclusive, insider’s look at how The Newtown Bee operates.
While walking through The Bee Publishing Co, students asked questions about how the newspaper is made, saw bound volumes from the years they were born, and learned about the paper’s beginnings in 1877.
While on the walking tours, not only do the students see The Newtown Bee, they tour inside Edmond Town Hall, C.H. Booth Library, Matthew Curtis House, and the Meeting House.
