A sedan is pulled up the embankment along I-84 West near Exit 11 on Sunday, June 14. The 24-year-old driver reportedly told responders that he had swerved to avoid a deer, and the vehicle went over the embankment. Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, a Nuvance medic, and Connecticut State Police responded to the scene, which was reported around 8:20 pm. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own. He was checked for injuries, and transported to a hospital.
