Can Anyone Spell Hypocrisy?

To the Editor:

Ten years ago, after Sandy Hook, my grandchildren attended funerals for two six-year-old boys.

Here we are in 2022 and nothing has changed. Citizens of the United States are still being massacred in schools, grocery stores and churches.

Now we are asked to be hopeful. The Republican Party just MAY allow expanded background checks and red flag warnings. Is this a joke?

The Republicans also tell us abortion must be banned since the procedure takes the life of a fetus. Their gun policy continues to result in mass shootings, and children are dying. So, fetuses must be protected, but our children can be sacrificed to the gun lobby.

Can anyone spell hypocrisy?

I will not vote for any Republican candidate until assault weapons and high capacity magazines are banned.

Respectfully,

Paul R. Arneth

Southbury
