Masonicare Residents Visit Hawley School

A group of Masonicare at Newtown residents visited with Deborah Lubin Pond's kindergarten class at Hawley School in June.
The students greeted the residents in the library with a colorful Welcome Friends poster. Mrs Pond read a book titled Waiting for Wings, written and illustrated by Lois Ehlert.
The children each wrote facts and drew illustrations, which were then given to each resident. The children had been learning about butterflies and wanted to share some interesting facts with the seniors.
Students and seniors worked together to make lovely mosaic butterflies, which were then put on display in the lobby of Masonicare at Newtown.
Kindergarten students at Hawley School, as well as their teachers and other faculty members, welcomed a group of Masonicare at Newtown residents to the Church Hill Road elementary school for an intergenerational program last month.
