Challenge Of Champions

Michael Hajzer, 14, of Sandy Hook, took a second-place trophy in the recent East Coast Tournament “Challenge of Champions” martial arts competition held at New Balance Track & Field Center in New York City. He competed in the 100-130 pound grappling division for 12 to 15 year olds. The son of Gabor and Monica Hajzer, Michael trains with national kickboxing champion Shennon Maceo at Tiger Schulmann’s Karate Center in Danbury. The event hosted over 1,500 martial arts students of all ages and belt ranks.
