Helping The Seahawks To Victory

Newtown’s Megan Goyda, Katie Laaksonen and their Connecticut Seahawks 12U fastpitch softball team captured a seventh championship trophy this past weekend by defeating the Southington Lightning 10-6 in the championship game of the Lightning Strikes PONY National Qualifier.  The Seahawks went undefeated in the tournament with wins over the Connecticut Titans, Shoreline Sting, and Valley Fusion before facing the Lightning in the finals. The team is back in action at the Jungle Jamboree ASA tournament in West Hartford, July 9-10, then heads to Orlando, Fla for the United States Specialty Sports Association National Tournament July 24-30.
