James MacKerracher, 86, a longtime resident of Woodbury, died Thursday, June 27, at Masonicare in Newtown. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Aitcheson) MacKerracher.

James was born February 26, 1927, in Waterbury, son of Ella (Danisavage) and Kenneth MacKerracher. He was an engineering aide, having been employed at Perkin Elmer for many years. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, and a member of King Solomon’s Lodge and North Congregational Church, Woodbury.

Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves a son, Kenny MacKerracher of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two daughters, Dale Constans-Gavarry of Orleans, France, and Nancy Northrop of Bombala, Australia, as well as two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Irma MacKerracher.
