Richard R.     Kopnicky

Richard R. Kopnicky, 84, husband of Valerie (Horny) Kopnicky of Castle Meadow Road, Newtown, died June 30 in Ashlar of Newtown.

He was the brother of Robert and Clement Kopnicky of Newtown.

He was born in Bridgeport, April 4, 1917, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dugas) Kopnicky. Mr Kopnicky was employed as a tool setter at Dictaphone. He was a member of the fire brigade. He was a resident of Newtown for 47 years. During World War II, he served in the US Air Force and was a former member of the Newtown Country Club.

Mr Kopnicky is survived, besides his wife and brothers, by one daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Joseph Beauchene, of Huntington; four sisters, Joan Snyder of Florida, Elizabeth Baliff of Hemett, Calif., Florence Reiland of Milford and Margaret Cheever of Bridgeport; another brother, Regionald Kopnicky of Stratford; one granddaughter, Michelle Paris of Florida; and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by a son, Richard R. Kopnicky, Jr.

Funeral services were held July 3 at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
