Camp Jonathan Helps Children

NEW MILFORD — Camp Jonathan is a bereavement day camp for children ages 6 through 12 who have experienced the loss of a significant loved one. It provides a safe setting for children to express their grief and their emotions through art, dance, crafts and music.

Pediatric grief counselors assisted by trained Hospice volunteers provide a caring environment for children to meet others who have lost a loved one and to do the work of grieving.

The camp will be held at First Congregational Church on the Green August 16–20 and is free of charge, but advance registration is required. Camp Jonathan is sponsored by New Milford NMVNA Hospice, a member of Housatonic Shepaug United Way.
