Fiddlin’ Contest In Roxbury

ROXBURY — Thirty years ago, Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department, in conjunction with its “Old Roxbury Days,” sponsored a contest to display the skills of musicians playing country and western music. Over the years, this contest has grown and grown and is now the biggest event of its kind in the Northwest Hills.

It will be held at Hurlbut Park on Saturday, July 10, beginning at 4:30 pm. Admission is $10 for adults, free for children ages 12 and under. Parking is also free.

Bring lawn chairs or blanket, picnic, and beverages. Refreshments will also be available to purchase. Signs to the park, which is on Apple Lane, will be posted.
