Sunday, July 3 – The Crickerbrook Farm CHSA Show will be held Sunday, July 3, at Crickerbrook Farm in Monroe. Classes will include Walk-Trot, Short Stirrup, Pleasure, Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation. For info and prize list, call 268-6676.

Sunday, July 11 – The Bethlehem Horse Show will be held Sunday, July 11, at the Morris Equestrian Center on Route 61 in Bethlehem. The show will start at 8 am sharp, rain or shine. There will be food, beverages, and pony rides for the kids. All registration proceeds will be used to create bridle trails on Sweson Farm property. Call 1-203-266-5884 for further information.

Sunday, July 11 – Lion Hill Farm will hold its next Schooling Show on Sunday, July 11, at the farm on 1020 Sport Hill Road in Easton. The show starts at 8 am and is open to the public. Call (268-0089) or fax (459-8122) in entries or register the day of the show.

Sunday, July 18 – Brushy Hill Farm in Southbury will he hosting a schooling show on Sunday, July 18. Divisions will include Mirco, Walk/Trot, Short Stirrup, Green Hunter, Low Hunter, Suitable Hunter, Equitation, Adult and Pleasure. The show will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. Sunday, July 25 – The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard will hold its annual Horse Show on Sunday, July 25. Contact show secretary Pamela King at 1-203-758-8602. The show is CHSA, ASHA, CHJA, and AHCC rated. There will also be driving classes.

Sunday, August 29 to Sunday, September 5 – The 29th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show will be held Sunday, August 29, through Sunday, September 5, in Bridgehampton, New York. The Classic, which benefits the Southampton Hospital, hosts exciting hunter/jumper competition from junior levels up to the pinnacle of the sport, grand prix show jumping, and features the $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix. Sunday, August 15 – The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard will hold an Open House on Sunday, August 15, complete with public tours, performances, demonstrations, pony rides for kids as well as recruit enlistment information for fall recruit classes. DOGS AND CATS

Sunday, August 1 – The Siberian Husky Club of Western Connecticut and its rescue program, Siberian Husky Rescue of Southern New England, will hold the third annual membership drive Picnic/Rescue Fundraiser/Fun Match on Sunday, August 1 (rain date – Sunday, August 15) in the recreation area of Putnam Memorial Park in Redding (Route 58). Experience the fun filled world you can share with your Siberian. Come join us between 12 noon and 4 pm. This event is for owners of purebred Siberian Huskies. Bring your Siberian(s), kids, picnic baskets, chairs, picnic blankets, disposable bags for doggie deposits, and plenty of water for your Siberians(s). Grills and picnic tables are available in the park. There will be a “microchipping” clinic for all Siberians who need to be chipped. Siberians adopted through our rescue program will be chipped for free, but there is a $15 fee for microchipping all other Siberians.
