Four MV Charges

Police said they observed a partially visible registration sticker on a marker plate on a vehicle driven by Craig Stainbrook, 30, of Danbury on Swamp Road in Botsford on the morning of July 2.

A computerized records check indicated that the marker plate was stolen, police said.

Police said they charged Stainbrook with possession of a stolen marker plate, misuse of a marker plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.

Police said Stainbrook is scheduled to appear July 17 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.

Newtown police said Bethel, Brookfield, and Danbury police were holding outstanding warrants for Stainbrook’s arrest on various charges. Newtown police turned over Stainbrook to Bethel police.

Warrant Served

Police report that Daniel Augusto, 23, of Danbury turned himself in to police July 2 after they informed him they had a warrant for his arrest in connection with a past incident.

Police charged Augusto with failure to respond to an infraction ticket and trespassing on railroad property. Police released him on a $77 bond for a July 12 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Exit 11

Police said that while on seatbelt compliance enforcement duty at the intersection of Mile Hill Road and Exit 11 of Interstate 84 on the evening of July 2, they spotted motorist Richard F. Kasper, III, 31, of Oakville, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police stopped Kasper and charged him with failure to wear a seatbelt and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.

Police released him on a promise to appear July 17 in Danbury Superior Court.
