The destination for creatively crafted fresh smoothies, juices, and acai bowls, Robeks newest Connecticut location, just off Interstate 84 at Exit 10 in Newtown, held an activity-filled grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting on Saturday, June 19. The new Robeks store, at 75 Church Hill Road, is owned and operated by Patrik Kovac and Mark Henriques.

With First Selectman Dan Rosenthal offering welcoming remarks and holding the ceremonial ribbon with Newtown Chamber of Commerce President Judith Miller, Kovac stood beside his business partner and did the honors officially opening the franchise.

“We are extremely excited to be opening our fourth location in the Connecticut region. Newtown is a small but growing community, and we are thrilled to be part of it,” said Kovac in an advance. “Being able to put a smile on customers’ faces with our delicious and healthy products and welcoming atmosphere is truly what this is all about.”

Henriques and Kovac also own and operate Robeks locations in Danbury, Shelton, and on the Sacred Heart University campus in Fairfield.

Robeks offers smoothies and juices concocted of high quality ingredients and creative flavor combinations that have been making guests happy for 25 years. Some of the brand’s most popular items include:

*The Strawnana Berry classic smoothie, with strawberries, banana, nonfat frozen yogurt and apple juice, a refreshing treat any time of the day;

*The 800 Lb Gorilla performance smoothie, with banana, peanut butter, nonfat frozen yogurt, soy milk, chocolate, a multivitamin, and 40 grams of whey protein that delivers 60% of the average daily requirement for calcium, and 20% of recommended daily fiber intake; and

*The Tropi-Kale wellness smoothie with fresh kale, pineapple, pineapple sherbet, nonfat frozen yogurt, and papaya juice, packed with antioxidant Vitamin C.

But a number of customers, including the first selectman, were queuing up for one of Robeks cool summertime offerings, the Wailea Watermelon smoothie. In addition to a full line of smoothies, juices, and bowls, guests can boost health benefits and flavor with a Wellness Shot of wheatgrass, lemon ginger, or turmeric.

The national chain’s latest menu items, the recently added avocado and acai toasts, are served on thick, airy, lightly toasted sourdough bread.

The Robeks grand opening offered special deals all day and entertainment from Danny Lyons of radio station WEBE 108.

Founded in Southern California in 1996, Robeks is a forerunner among wholesome juice and healthful smoothie shops, using fruits and vegetables at the peak of their freshness for delicious taste and high quality nutrients. With more than 100 locations open and in development in 12 states and the District of Columbia, Robeks continues its stellar growth with this Newtown franchise.
