College Planning Specialist To Address HBRA, Guests

DARIEN — John F. Pearson, CPA, will be the guest speaker at the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Fairfield County, Inc for the Associate Council’s summer networking event, July 10, at Giovanni’s.

Mr Pearson is a nationally known speaker and writer on the topic of creative educational funding options. He has spoken before groups such as the Financial Planners Association and National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. He writes a bimonthly column on college financing for the Greentree Gazette, a leading publication for college administrators.

In addition, he is often quoted in media such as US News & World Report, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg.com. Mr Pearson is currently working as a financial planner with Barnum Financial Group, an Office of MetLife.

Based on his own experience of funding his children’s college education, he realized how financially unprepared many parents are when it comes time to send their children to college. For this reason Mr Pearson has focused his career on ensuring parents are not caught off guard when it comes time to pay for their children’s education.

His topics will include; how to pay for your child’s education; most current information on 529 Plans; how to pay for college while keeping your retirement schedule on track.

This event is open to the public. Admission is $20 ($25 at the door) and includes the cost of a drink ticket, hors d’oeuvres, and access to ideas that could help you reduce the cost of educating your children.
