Free Screenwriting Class For Students

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield Arts Council (FAC) will host an “Introduction to Screenwriting” class on Thursday, July 20, from 4 to 5:30 pm, at the council’s office, 70 Sanford Street in Fairfield, CT.

The class is free and open to high school and college-aged students in conjunction with Easton Arts Council’s first annual student screenwriting competition this fall. Attending the class does not obligate students to enter the contest, however. Likewise, students do not need to take the class in order to submit their screenplay.

Laura Modlin, president of Aspetuck Writers and Laura Modlin Script Advisory, LLC, will provide students with the information they need to begin writing a feature-length screenplay.

Entries for the screenwriting contest will be due late fall 2006. The contest is being established to encourage and showcase young screenwriting talent.

For more information or to reserve your place in the July 20 class, call Ms Laura Modlin at 917-797-3136 or send an email to screenplay@EastonArtsCouncil.org.
