Peter Clifford, age 80, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Peter was born on November 30, 1945 to Patrick Clifford and Mary (nee Thomas). He was raised in Inwood, New York City.

He attended Manhattan Preparatory and graduated from Manhattan College. Served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969, then started his career in finance. Retired as Senior VP, Finance with John Wiley Publishing Co. Peter was a long time resident of Sandy Hook, Ct prior to moving to Newtown. Peter was well loved for his generosity, sense of humor and intelligence. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Conlan; sister, Patricia Leonard; and brother, John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, on Thursday, July 16, at 10:30 am. Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Wednesday, July 15, from 4 to 8 pm.
