South Main Crash

Police report a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Simm Lane and South Main Street about 2:49 pm July 1.

Motorist Michael LoBuglio, 43, of 9 King Street, who was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Passat, was making a left turn from westbound Simm Lane onto southbound South Main Street, when he collided with southbound motorist Linda Bates, 51, of 55 Sugar Lane, who was driving a 1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned LoBuglio for failure to grant the right of way.

Three Vehicles

An accident involving a sport-utility vehicle, an automobile, and a pickup truck occurred about 5:14 pm June 24 at 228 South Main Street, near Sand Hill Plaza.

All three vehicles were traveling southward on South Main Street.

Motorist Helen Wigzell, 28, of Monroe, who was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon, could not stop in time and struck the rear end of a 1993 Oldsmobile Royale driven by Karen Booth, 53, of 13 Bear Hills Road, police said. That impact then pushed the Oldsmobile into the rear end of 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Aguinaldo Silva, 35, of Bridgeport, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Wigzell for following too closely. Police issued Booth an infraction ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle.
