Westover Offers Summer Programs
Westover Offers Summer Programs
MIDDLEBURY â Westover School will offer Westoverâs Summer Programs, a program designed for girls currently entering the sixth, seventh, or eighth grade who are interested in the arts or academics.
The school will be offering the camp in two sessions. Session I runs from July 17â22 and Session II runs from July 24â29. Campers will live in the school dorms.
The summer camp will build on the previous foundation of its popular Women in Science and Engineering and Drama camps. This year the camp will offer seven areas of focus that include: Women in Science and Engineering, which will offer hands-on experience in math, science, and computer science; Drama including staging, theatrical makeup, costuming, and set building; Dance, which will offer a fusion of essential dance elements and rhythmic adventures; Photography, which will culminate with the students own gallery show; Painting with acrylics on canvas; Creative Writing, which is combined with a bookmaking project: and Model United Nations, an introduction to the United Nations, including a field trip to New York.
This camp for girls nurtures creativity and promotes confidence building skills. Campers will participate in hands-on activities during the day and exciting afternoon and evening activities such as swimming, arts and crafts and a talent show.
