Mrs Donna Marie Williams (Skibinski), 71, of Newtown, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 12, 1953, in Bridgeport, Donna was the daughter of the late Michael Skibinski, Sr and Emilie Skibinski. She grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Trumbull High School with the Class of 1971.

Donna dedicated much of her early life to raising her children while working part-time jobs that allowed her to balance family and work. Later in life, she pursued a career as a proofer and platemaker at two local printing companies, where her attention to detail and creative eye were highly valued.

A fun-loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Donna brought joy and warmth into every space she entered. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her deep appreciation for animals and botanicals of all kinds. A passionate gardener, she was known for keeping local nurseries thriving with her frequent visits and ever-growing collection of plants.

Donna’s creativity knew no bounds. She was a self-taught artist whose talents spanned sewing, needlework, painting, and baking. Her home was filled with handcrafted treasures that reflected her vibrant spirit. Whether indoors or out, Donna found inspiration everywhere — her enthusiasm for arts and crafts was infectious and often inspired those around her to explore their own creativity. She thoroughly enjoyed carrying on the tradition of making family recipes and was proud of her blue-ribbon winning bread and butter pickles.

An avid reader and puzzle enthusiast, Donna enjoyed everything from Stephen King novels to complex jigsaw puzzles. Donna never missed watching the UConn women’s basketball team or the New York Mets. Her love for travel took her to many destinations over the years; however, it was Maine that held a special place in her heart.

Donna’s outgoing nature made it easy for her to form lasting friendships wherever she went. Her laughter was contagious, her presence uplifting, and her zest for life unforgettable.

She is survived by her devoted husband Jeffrey Williams; daughters Charissa Williams and Heather (David) Lucian; and grandchildren Hannah Lucian and Jack Lucian. She also leaves behind a brother, Leonard Skibinski; and sisters, Cheryl Sando and Eleanor Shinglar; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished her deeply.

In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brother Michael Skibinski Jr; father-in-law Newton Williams; mother-in-law Connie Williams; and brother-in-law Glenn Williams.

The Williams family would like to thank devoted caregivers Andrea Kitchen and Miriam Galindo for their kind and compassionate care over the years. Your friendship and assistance in caring for Donna will always be remembered.

Donna’s memory will live on through the beauty she created, the love she shared, and the lives she touched. May her legacy continue to inspire all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown. The Williams Family welcomes attendees to wear colorful attire in honor of Donna and her love of nature and gardening. There will also be a celebration of life dinner held at Testo’s Restaurant, Monroe, on Saturday, July 12, at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in her name.
