‘CRAFT IN AMERICA’ IS INAUGURAL EXHIBIT AT MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY CRAFT

AVV 7-5 #705639

PORTLAND, ORE. — Museum of Contemporary Craft will host “Craft PDX: A Block Party,” a public event to celebrate the arrival of the DeSoto Project on Sunday, July 22, from noon to 7:30 pm.

The free festival will celebrate the museum’s grand re-opening and the unveiling of the DeSoto building on the North Park Blocks, Portland’s newest arts destination that also features Charles Hartman Fine Art, Blue Sky Gallery, Augen Gallery and Froelick Gallery.

Activities include glass-blowing by Tacoma’s Museum of Glass Mobile Hot Shop and Jamex and Einar de la Torre, the first opportunity for the public to tour the new museum and visit the DeSoto galleries, panel discussions with artists and curators from the Craft In America project, live music, a raffle with a chance to win a BMW “art car” painted by Portland artist Tom Cramer, refreshments, artist demonstrations and hands-on art activities
