WILTON, CONN. â An exhibition of toys made in Connecticut in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries on view at the Wilton Heritage Museum will close Sunday, July 15.
Creative entrepreneurs made Connecticut the leader in early industrialization and pioneered in creating domestically made tin and cast iron toys. Never before have so many regional examples been brought together in one place.
This exhibit offers features nearly 300 objects culled from nine collectors from six states. The exhibition is broad-ranging, including dolls, trains and games, and from the present, Silly Putty, Wiffle Balls, and Lego, all with Connecticut connections.
The Wilton Heritage Museum is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 4:30 pm, and Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. The museum is located at 224 Danbury Road. For information, 203-762-7257, or www.wiltonhistorical.org.
