Kathleen H. Sullivan, 81, a longtime Stamford and recent Monroe resident, died July 8, after a brave struggle with cancer. www.cancer.org, St Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, or The Connecticut Hospice at www.hospice.com.www.gallagherfuneralhome.com.

Her three children and spouses: Kathy and Tony Albano of Sandy Hook, Neil and Debbie Sullivan of Trumbull, and Larry and  Betsy Sullivan of Fairfield; five grandchildren; sister-in-law Ita Hardiman; in-laws Agnes and John Benison; sister-in-law Anne Sullivan; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other beloved family and friends survive her.

Her husband, John L. "Jack" Sullivan; her parents, Catherine and Joseph Hardiman; and brother, John Hardiman, all of Stamford, predeceased her.

Mrs Sullivan was a woman of deep faith who cherished her family and friends. She was born in Stamford on March 2, 1935, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1952. When her children were young, she was a stay-at-home mother, but throughout her life she worked for periods at the Hartford Electric Light Company (Helco), where she met her husband, the Stamford Public Schools, and Olin Corporation, from which she retired in 1991.

Mrs Sullivan was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Court of St Mary Catholic Daughters of America, and Church of St Cecilia. She served as volunteer at St Cecilia, New Covenant House Soup Kitchen, and the Tully Center.

Mrs Sullivan and her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Smilow Cancer Center in Trumbull and the staff of The Connecticut Hospice for their care and compassion during Mrs Sullivan's illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Church of St Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, at 10:30 am. on Wednesday, July 13. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 12, from 4 to 8 pm, at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home (next to Knights of Columbus), 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford.
