Tips On Tap

DANBURY — The Cardiac Diet is the topic for discussion at the next meeting of the Cardiac Support Group at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, July 18, at 7 pm, in The Praxair Cancer Center conference room, located on the first floor of the Stroock Building. Parking is free in the Red Parking garage, Locust Avenue entrance.

Featured speaker Michele Smallidge, a registered dietitian and exercise physiologist at the Marcus Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at Danbury Hospital, will discuss how a “heart healthy” diet can help reduce cholesterol, blood pressure, and weight, and new trends in functional foods, supplements, and fiber.

The Cardiac Support Group meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Wednesday of the month, and offers people with heart disease, pre- and postoperative cardiothoracic surgical patients, their families and caregivers, education, encouragement, and support.
