David E. Brown, 63, husband of Cassie (Rice ) Brown of Sandy Hook, died July 6 at the Danbury Health Care Center after a long illness. He was born in San Francisco, Calif., on April 30, 1944, a son of Grace (Lorimer) Brown of Danbury and the late Lionel F.S. Brown.
Mr Brown was a graduate of Bell Haven College in Mississippi and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. For many years, Mr Brown served as the preacher at the Easton Baptist Church, Easton. He was also a stay-at-home dad and an artist of paintings. A resident of Sandy Hook for 14 years, he previously lived in Morris.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr Brown is survived by his children, Jennifer Pulvermacher of Grenora, N.D., Kristin Olson of Spokane, Wash., Mariel Brown, Michaela Brown, Kathleen Brown, and Daniel W. Brown, all of Sandy Hook; two brothers, Dr Lionel Brown of Newtown and Charles Brown of Lewistown, Mont.; and a sister, Kathleen Spangler of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kayla, Madison, Ledger, and Braden Pulvermacher, and Gavyn Olson.
Funeral Services and interment in Newtown Village Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
