Police Charge Two Teens With Alcohol, Drug Violations

Following surveillance near a local package store, police arrested two Easton youths, charging them with alcohol and drug violations.

Police report they were working an undercover operation near an unspecified South Main Street package store at about 8 pm July 6 to detect and deter underage alcohol possession, when they spotted Sean English, 18, of Easton exit the package store with alcohol.

Police said they followed English as he drove away, stopping him to investigate after he failed to use a directional signal to make a lane change.

Police then searched English’s vehicle with their dog, after which they charged English with using a fake identification card to procure alcohol, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to use a directional signal.

Also, police charged vehicle passenger Kerry Donovan, 18, of Easton with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and with failure to keep prescription drugs in their original container.

After arrest processing, police released English on $1,500 bail and released Donovan on $1,000 bail. Both are scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 24.
