Win Win Foundation Seeks Help

To the Editor:

The Win Win Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and networking to children with disabilities and their families... in the greater Newtown/Danbury area.

We, personally, have received tremendous support from Win Win, mostly in the form of respite nursing hours, which is the only way we can go to a movie, have a break from the medical needs and stress of caring for our son Daniel, who has polymicrogyria, a rare brain malformation resulting in severe disabilities and medical problems. Win Win is a wonderful and amazing organization.

On August 6 at the Redding Country Club, they are having their tenth annual fund raiser golf outing and silent auction, and they need your help.

Please go to the website to learn more: www.winwinfoundation.com. If you could consider placing an advertisement, making a donation to the raffle, golfing in the outing itself, or helping in anyway, you will be helping special needs children and their families in ways that are unimaginable for most people.

We have been members of Win Win since Daniel was a baby, and he is now 9. But there are many other Newtown, Sandy Hook, Bethel, Brookfield, Ridgefield, Danbury, and New Milford families that Win Win helps.

Please please please... This is a wonderful golf outing, sponsored by I-95. Help them make it a success. All you golfers out there. Why not? I would be happy to mail you a flyer, or you could just go on line to the website, or email the foundation directly at winwinct@aol.com.

The next time you are sitting at a restaurant, enjoying a movie, or at a party with friends. and your children are safe with a sitter at home, just remember that some people cannot enjoy those breaks. Some people cannot even go to the local grocery store easily or ever sleep through the night. What many take for granted, we consider a gift and a luxury.

Thank you on behalf of the Win Win Foundation, its founders, and board members. You can help make a difference.
