Occupation: I am a Digital Data Marketing Executive.

Family: My husband is Al and my sons are Justin Kaiser (24) and Alex Gadbut (12).

Pets: Dean is our English bulldog and Rosie is our bullmastiff.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We have lived in Newtown for 11 years, and we could not be happier with our decision to move here, which was originally because of the high rating the high school receives for my oldest. The best decision we have ever made.

What do you like to do in your free time? I don’t have a lot of free time, but I always make time to host my friends and family at our home. There is nothing quite like throwing a great party and we try to have them often. I have also recently taken up pickleball in town and hope to be on the champion circuit super soon.

What is your favorite book? I love a good historical romance.

What organizations are you part of in Newtown? I am currently the chairperson on the board of the Children’s Adventure Center, which I have been a member of since 2015.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? I have many different influences, but I would have to say my mother most of all. Always hard working, a nurse for 40 years before retiring, she was an independent force that took care of her children and pushed through challenging times like a champ. She taught me that the greatest gift you can give yourself is your own independence and financial security.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? Right now, I can’t wait to spend the day with my husband as he has been gone hiking the Appalachian Trail since early March. I am looking forward to that first day I will spend with him to see all the amazing pictures and hear the stories of his life on the trail.

Who is your favorite musical artist? Bon Jovi!

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? “Love what you do” not necessarily “do what you love.” This is advice I now give and was given early on in my career. There is such a difference in those two things. If you love what you do, you will not only enjoy success but create happiness for everyone around you. I remember in high school when I was a cashier at a local supermarket, and I loved it! It was before scanners (I am now dating myself), so there would be a contest of who was the fastest checker. I was all about that! Little things throughout your day as you learn your craft, whatever it is, can bring you joy if you choose to let it. Like Ted Lasso says, “Always be curious!”

What is something you cannot live without? That’s easy: my family! And good wine.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My boys. I am in a unique situation where I have children further apart in age so to see my oldest thriving as an adult and my soon-to-be middle schooler forging his own path with his own successes, it makes me very proud, and I feel so lucky to have them both.

What is a meal/recipe your family has passed down to you? My mother did not love to cook, so I don’t have any passed down recipes. I, however, do love to cook and not to brag but my short ribs are award-winning.

What is a tradition your family does that is important to you? Every year we go to the same tree farm together to cut down our Christmas tree. My extended family and now close friends all go, and we tailgate, it’s an entire day of fun to kick off the holiday season. We have been doing this for 25 years.

What would you like The Newtown Bee to cover in the future? Snapshots of residents is a great idea and keep highlighting local businesses and their owners. We have such an amazing town with thriving businesses so it’s nice to hear their stories.
