Construction Begins

 For Regional Cancer Center

WATERBURY — Ground was broken last month for the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, a partnership between St Mary’s Hospital and Waterbury Hospital.

The new freestanding state-of-the-art cancer center will provide a full range of outpatient services including radiation therapy, support services, a resource center, medical oncology, and prevention education.

The 36,000-square foot center will be built on the former Larkin Clinic site on Chase Parkway in Waterbury. The project will cost about $15 million. It is expected to take approximately 12 to 14 months to complete.
