Dr Crouse Tapped For

White House Aging Conference

Dr Vicky Crouse, a naturopathic physician, was selected to sit on the 2005 White House Conference on Aging — Independent Aging Agenda Events, held in Trumbull on June 23.

Every ten years such a conference is held to examine senior issues and develop policy recommendations. The national conference will take place in Washington, D.C., in December and will focus on how society can best meet the needs of an aging population in coming years. Comments and recommendations from the regional conference, such as the one in Trumbull, will help form the agenda for the national conference.

Dr Crouse talked about prevention of disease and slowing of the aging process using diet and vitamin/mineral therapies. Specifically, she discussed ways to keep the brain healthy, eliminate cancer-causing free radicals, strengthen bones, and improve circulation as people age.

Dr Crouse has been practicing in Sandy Hook for more than a year, having moved to the area from Portland, Ore., where she had a full-time practice for many years. She was also a professor at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her practice is part of the Physical Medicine & Wellness Center located at 24 Glen Road.
