Louis A.        Szekeres

Louis “Ox” A. Szekeres, 68, of Pownal, Vt., beloved husband of Shirley Rumble Szekeres, died July 11 at Massachusetts General Hospital.

In addition to his wife he is survived by seven children, David Szekeres of Newtown, as well as Adeline Anderson, Rodger Szekeres, Suzanne Meeker, Aaron Szekeres, John Szekeres, and Jessica Szekeres; three brothers, Richard Szekeres, Raymond Nichols, and David Nichols; a sister, Betty Barnes; five grandchildren, Kevin, Jason and Daniel Szekeres, Amy Anderson and Wesley Meeker; also several nieces and nephews.

Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Louis and Adeline Randall Szekeres and had been a lifelong Trumbull resident before moving to Vermont. Mr Szekeres was retired from the Seymour School System and had formerly worked for the Mountain Grove Cemetery. He was a volunteer for 25 years with the Long Hill Fire Department, House #2 of Trumbull and had served with the US Navy for four years.

Friends may attend a memorial service Saturday, July 16, at 11 am in the First United Church of Shelton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family and there will be no calling hours.
