Rousing Songs And Stories Of The Sea

LITCHFIELD — On Wednesday, July 20, a 19th Century sailor from Mystic Seaport will step out of time to perform traditional sea chanteys and talk about life on the ocean.

The event is part of Litchfield Historical Society’s Children’s Summer Series. It will be held at Tapping Reeve House & Law School, at 82 South Street. Called “Music on the Water,” the program will feature traditional instruments and singing.

The rain location is the Church House of St Michael’s Parish at 23 South Street.

Admission is free, and all are welcome. The performance will begin at 11 am and last until noon.

Audience members are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Following the show, the grounds will be available for picnics.
