ANTIQUES SHOW & SALE PRE AUG. 29, 30 & 31

ak/gs set 7/1 6 #745662

YORK, PENN. — The original 151st semi-annual York Antiques Show and Sale is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 29– 31, at Memorial Hall East, at the York Fairgrounds Convention and Expo Center.

This popular event will feature 96 carefully screened exhibitors in room settings offering an impressive range of antiques. According to show manager Melvin L. Arion, the merchandise at York will run the full gamut, including Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century period American and English furniture in beautiful hardwoods; country pieces sporting original paint and decoration; fine early porcelain like Staffordshire, Delft, Canton and Chinese Export; pottery such as redware and stoneware; Oriental carpets; quilts; hooked rugs; samplers and other textiles; estate jewelry; Native American pottery and weavings; early kitchen; and fireplace items.

Due to York’s reputation, there is very little dealer turnover. A few, however, of the older exhibitors have retired from the antiques business, leading to a few new faces for this show. They are: Bob Jessen and Jim Hohnwald, Fitzwilliam, N.H.; Dark Moon Antiques of Johnsonburg, N.J.; Tom and Rose Cheap from Period Antiques, Scottsburg, Ind.; and Linens by Church Hill Antiques of Pikesville, Md. In addition, the following Pennsylvania dealers will be participating: Robert M. Conrad, Yeagertown and Dale Hunt of The Pembroke Shop in Wayne.

This York Show is considered by many to be one of the premier antiquing events in the mid-Atlantic area.

Show hours both Friday and Saturday are 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is $10.
