Gratitude For Pickleball Support
To The Editor:
Thank you Amy Mangold, Carl Samuelson, Jeff Capeci, Fred Hurley, William Manfredonia, and Janice Brown.
Thank you Amy, for the years of leading the growth of pickleball in Newtown. Because of your efforts’ the town now has eight courts in very nice condition where we used to have an unused parking lot. When courts would normally cost many, many times the $100 k grant money you obtained, you saved the town a big bucket of money; this, on top of all the other projects you lead at Parks and Rec.
Thank you Carl, for all the assistance you have given Amy with the pickleball project and your employees did a wonderful job painting and lining the courts.
Thank you Fred, for the excellent resurfacing of the courts: no more cracks, just a nice smooth surface and thanks for bringing the resurfacing in below budget or it would have never happened... Great job...
Thank you Jeff, for helping to guide the project along. It could have stopped a number of times without your support.
Thanks, to all the members of the Fairfield Hills Commission: Ross Carley, Anthony Filiato, Michael Holmes, James Landy, Justin Molito, Terry Sagedy, Brook Clark and Peter Schwarz for the unanimous vote to keep the courts in their present location at FFH. If the town had to move the courts, the cost of moving to a new location would have been prohibitive. The town would not have eight courts for many years.
Thanks, Bill, for encouraging the pickleball players to attend all the meetings that were necessary to inform the town committees of the needs of the growing sport.
Thank you, Jan, for your constant support of the pickleball community.
