To The Editor:

I was genuinely taken aback to learn that a member of our Legislative Council believes that “The magnitude of the stupidity in this town is incomprehensible…”

The arrogance of this person is exceeded only by the stupidity of the explanation that he advances to justify this assertion. If this is an example of the thinking being brought to bear on issues germane to the governance of our community then I am justifiably concerned about our future as a livable, loving, supportive community. Leadership in our community deserves better representation.

Thus, I support the LC member in his recommendation that we remember to vote in November.

es, Councilman Pisani used strong words—but let’s not pretend there isn’t real frustration behind them. When a serious and measured question about protecting public safety, reducing taxpayer costs, and improving traffic control is met with performative outrage and political theater, frustration is more than justified. It’s earned.

I too will continue to vote for those who will fight for everyone’s rights. Newtown deserves leadership that’s not afraid to speak the truth and to suggest positive change.

Is Mr. Pisani just as frustrated with the Republicans on the Legislative Council who voted “No,” or is his anger reserved for Democrats and the many residents of Newtown who disagreed with him?
