St Rose Parish Welcomes New Parochial Vicar
Reverend Cajetan “CJ” Oleaghhara has joined the clergy at St Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church as parochial vicar.
Father Cajetan or as he prefers, Fr CJ, was previously assigned to St Joseph’s Center, a nursing home in Trumbull.
Father Peter Cipriani, pastor of St Rose parish, said he is “super excited” to have Father CJ arrive in Newtown.
“There are so many amazing things happening here, we really needed a third clergy member to support this vibrant community,” Cipriani added.
Father CJ was ordained a Catholic priest on August 22, 2009 in the Catholic Diocese of Orlu, Nigeria. There, he served as a parochial vicar for three years and then as pastor for 12 years. Just before moving to the United States, Fr CJ served as an administrator of a hospital in that same diocese.
In his personal message to St Rose parishioners, Fr CJ said, “I am privileged to serve in the Bridgeport Diocese. I am grateful to Bishop Frank Caggiano for this opportunity and Reverend Father Peter Cipriani for his acceptance and pastoral leadership.”
Father CJ joins the parish just as Father Anh Vu, parochial vicar, leaves for Rome, Italy. Vu will rejoin the clergy at St Rose upon completion of his one-year assignment.
