William V. Piccirillo, Sr, of Newtown died at the home of his son, William, Jr, in Sandy Hook, July 17.

Mr Piccirillo was born in Bridgeport, September 15, 1953, son of Peter and Diane (Lilley) Piccirillo.

He attended Henry Abbott Technical School and had worked most of his career as a mechanic in the machine maintenance and auto repair industries. He was a longtime member of the Royal Order of the Moose Lodge of Danbury.

He is survived by his children, William V. Piccirillo, Jr, of Sandy Hook, Michelle Johnson of New Milford, Lisa Mendelsohn of Thomaston, Michael Piccirillo of Anchorage, Alaska, and Corey Morrell of Danbury; a sister, Diana Castillo, of West Haven; and two stepbrothers, Lucian Piccirillo of Sandy Hook and Joseph Piccirillo of Maine; as well as six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Peter Piccirillo, Sr, predeceased him.

Graveside services will be held at St Rose Cemetery, Newtown, on Friday morning, July 20, at 11 am. Calling hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street for Thursday, July 19, from 5 to 8 pm.

Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
