After Dinner Bird Walks Being Offered In Derby
DERBY â The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protectionâs Kellogg Environmental Center is offering after dinner bird walks this season to beat the heat.
Kellogg Environmental Center volunteer Jay Connolly will conduct bird walks in the cool evening in search of summer nesting birds at the Kellogg Estate and Osbornedale State Park.
To participate, meet at the Kellogg Environmental Center parking lot. Programs are planned for Thursdays, August 11 and 25, and September 1 and 22, at 7 pm. Walks are about an hour long. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and field guides. Osbornedale State Park/Kellogg Estate Bird Checklists will be provided free to participants.
Kellogg Environmental Center is adjacent to Osbornedale State Park in Derby. This program is free and registration is not required. Call 734-2513 between 9 am and 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday for directions.
