Scholarships Available For Pilobolus Summer Dance Camp
WASHINGTON GREEN â Pilobolus is kicking off its second season of summer camp workshops for people of all ages. This year company organizers are pleased to announce that through a grant from The Hodgson Foundation, they are able to offer a limited number of full scholarships for their program.
The group is now bringing its work to its hometown in four five-day summer camp workshops for people of all ages and of all skill and experience levels.
Sessions will take place at Club Hall on the Washington Green, immediately off Route 47, where Pilobolus develops its own work. The programs will be a fun, physical week of thrilling work involving improvisation, live music, creativity, and trust.
Participants will train with Pilobolus dancers to learn the basics of athletic improvisation and creative play from which all things Pilobolean flow. Each week will culminate in a public presentation of a brand new work made by the dancers themselves.
Sessions are scheduled for the week of August 1-5, with students ages 5-8 to meet from 9:30 am until noon and students ages 13-16 meeting each day from 3 to 6 pm. A second session will run during the week of August 8-12, with students ages 9-12 meeting from 9:30 until 2 pm and adults to meet from 6 to 8:30 pm.
