Snapshot: Tyler Pruneau
Family: My mom, dad, and two sisters.
Work: I’m going into my senior year at UConn. I’m majoring in journalism, with a minor in political science. I work for The Daily Campus at UConn, writing for the sports section. I’ve covered women’s lacrosse, field hockey, and ice hockey. I also work in retail, and I’ve been interning this summer with this newspaper.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I would love to be a sports journalist, covering a team.
What is your favorite sport to cover? Football.
Favorite sport to play? Football with friends.
Favorite sports to watch? Football and basketball. My favorite teams are the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Chiefs.
What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy watching sports and keeping up with the news. I also enjoy golf and spending time with friends.
Favorite music genre? I’m everywhere with music. It depends on my mood. I’ll listen to everything from rap and Spanish to country.
What is the most recent concert you’ve been to? I’ve never been to a concert.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? In a journalist’s perspective, my professor once told me to find the story about the man biting the dog instead of the dog biting the man, because the man biting the dog story is more unique.
What is your favorite food? I love chicken parm.
What is something you cannot live without? Exercising.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? Florida. Nowhere in particular, I just enjoy seeing different parts of it.
What is your favorite thing about Newtown? The friendly, welcoming people and how nice everyone is.
