Sabrinaâs Encore Productions LLC has three shows in the works for the summer season. There are 174 students involved in this yearâs summer season, the majority of which are residents of Newtown, where the SEP studio is located.
The season has kicked off with Steven Sondheimâs Into The Woods, which continues at Ives Concert Park in Danbury on Friday and Saturday, July 24-25. Performers are in grades 7-10 and are accompanied by a professional six-piece orchestra.
Gates will open at 6 pm for picnics and curtain is at 8. Reserved premium seats are $20 adults, $18 for senior/students; reserved seats are $18Â and $15 respectively; and lawn seats are $15.
The second production will be the Mel Brooks musical comedy, The Producers. The winner of a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards, this show will be presented at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown.
The cast includes graduates of Boston Conservatory, Ithaca College, Gettysburg and Iona along with students from surrounding Fairfield County. Actors will be accompanied by a 12-piece professional orchestra, many with Broadway credit.
Performances will be Wednesday, July 29, through Sunday, August 2. Curtain will be at 7:30 pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, with matinee on Sunday at 2. Reserved premium seats are $23.50 adults, $20 for seniors/students; reserved seats are $20 and $18; and the balcony seats are $18 and $15.
The final show for the summer will be Disneyâs 101 Dalmatians Kids, also to be performed at Edmond Town Hall, by a cast of 40 children in grades 1-5.
The show will be performed on Saturday, August 1, at 2 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for senior/students.
Sabrinaâs Encore Productions LLC is a private performing arts school whose goal is to provide enrichment opportunities for students of all ages through the performing arts, while offering affordable quality community theater for all to enjoy.
