A Kind And Caring Woman
Mary M. Healy, 76, a longtime resident of Danbury, died July 21 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs Healy was born December 22, 1930, in the Inwood section of Manhattan, the daughter of the late George W. and Margaret (Moroney) Thompson.
Her husband, Edward J. Healy of Danbury, survives her, as do four children, Annmarie Durkin and her husband, Edward J., of Sandy Hook, and Edward J Healy, Jr, Kathleen Healy, and John Healy, all of Danbury; one brother, William Thompson and his wife, Andrea, of New York City; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Rouse and her husband, George. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Caitlin M. and Colleen M. Durkin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Therese Healy.
Mrs Healy was a homemaker and for many years a sales associate at Howland-Steinbach in Danbury, a longtime member of St Peter Church, and an avid Met Fan. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and having lunch with friends, but she mostly loved spending time with her family. She was a kind and caring woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 25 at St Peter Church. Interment followed at St Peter Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St Peter School, 98 Main Street, Danbury CT 06810.
