Caitlin & Keith Romelli

Caitlin Collier and Keith Romelli were married by Father George Sankoorikal at St Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield on May 12, 2012.

Caitlin is a daughter of Mary Beth and Robert Collier of Newtown.

There was not a dry eye in the church when the bride was walked down the aisle by her father. Mr Collier had become sick 15 months before the wedding with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease. His goal was to walk Caitlin down the aisle, “which we weren’t sure would happen, as he was completely paralyzed for months and just started attempting to walk with a walker a few months before the wedding,” said Caitlin.

“But he did it,” she added, “and it was quite a special moment.”

Caitlin wore a gown by Justin Alexander, and carried a bouquet of cream and pink roses and peonies for her wedding day.

Kelly Collier of Monroe, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Moira Collier of Newtown, also a sister of the bride, and Toni Bace of Millburn, N.J., sister of the groom, along with Briana McCann of Bethel, Cathy Byrne of Newtown, Catherine Foster of London, England, Jamie Schroeder of Medway, Mass., and Nicole Terhune, of Summit, N.J.

Darian and Bailey Diehl, the groom’s nieces, from Kenilworth, N.J., were junior bridesmaids.

Patrick Kelly and Rich Doherty, both of Millburn, shared the honor of being Keith’s best man.

Groomsmen were Connor Collier and James Collier of Newtown, brothers of the bride; Chris Lowery, John Ward, John Schimelpfenig, and Al Terhune, all from Millburn.

John Cirelli and Brendan Cummins, both of Millburn, were ushers.

A reception followed the marriage ceremony at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield.

The bridegroom is a son of Doreen and Ralph Bace of Millburn.

Caitlin Romelli is a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School. She also graduated from Loyola University in 2004 with a degree in business, and then from Pace University in 2008 with a master’s in elementary education. She is an elementary Spanish teacher in Mendham, N.J.

Keith Romelli, a 1999 graduate of Millburn High School, is a technician for Dascom Solutions, Inc.

The newlyweds live in Chatham, N.J.
